Kangana gets support from outside Bollywood

Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi hit the screens on January 25 and is doing pretty good business at the box office. While the film has received mixed reviews, there’s one thing that all critics agree on– and that’s Kangana shines through the film as Rani Laxmibai.
While her film continues to do well, Kangana has been making headlines for the past few weeks with her bold and fiery statements. After engaging in battle of words with director Krish, she lashed out at Alia Bhatt and several other Bollywood actors for never supporting her during her film.
She also slammed Bollywood for not speaking up and not shouldering any responsibility. ” You earn your money and go ahead in life and not bother about anything else. But that’s not the right attitude. You are a part of this country. What is the point of your success and your position on the pedestal if you can’t do things for the people of the country?”
She has received a thumbs up from Pema Khandu, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister. He tweeted her video and said, “Ms Kangana Ranaut Ji has rightly defined what it means being successful. Being successful means to shoulder social responsibilities, to take role as leader.”
Kangana had lashed out at Alia for not attending the screening of her film, or even backing her during the Manikarnika controversy.
Kangana has stated, “What Bollywood is doing, the planning and plotting, one thing is for sure, earlier I used to call them out for sexism, nepotism or pay disparity, but now I’ll be after them. ‘Inki vaat laga dugi’. I’ll expose each and every one. They have asked for trouble by ganging up against me.”
“I reached out to Alia and asked her what makes her think Manikarnika is my personal controversy, it’s a film whole nation is talking about and wondering why Bollywood is keeping quiet on such a relevant work. I asked her if I can be courteous and gracious to acknowledge her requests for encouraging relevant work that she does, why is she so scared to see my film,” she told an entertainment website.
Tanushree Dutta too is all praise for the Manikarnika star and has blasted those who are against her. In a lengthy statement, Tanushree stated that she is not getting any support from the rest of the industry because they hate her guts and are intimidated by her talent.
Few days ago, Anupam Kher too came out in support of her. His tweeted, “#KanganaRanaut is a ROCKSTAR. She is brilliant. I applaud her courage and performances. She is also the real example of #WomenEmpowerment.:)”
